Privacy Policy
HR Breakers ("we", "us", "our") operates the website and application at hrbreakers.com. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you use our resume adaptation service, why we collect it, and what choices you have.
1. Data we collect
We collect information you provide directly, information generated when you use the service, and limited technical data from your device.
- Account data: name, email address, profile image (if you sign in with Google or GitHub), and authentication credentials managed by our auth provider.
- Resume and job content: files you upload (such as PDF or text), pasted text, job posting URLs or descriptions, and AI-generated outputs (adapted resumes and related metadata).
- Usage data: actions inside the product (for example creating adaptations, downloading PDFs, purchasing credits) stored in our application logs for security, support, and analytics.
- Payment data: purchases are processed by Stripe and Platega. We receive transaction identifiers and credit balances; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Communications: messages you send to us (for example at hi@hrbreakers.com) and transactional emails (verification, password reset, receipts).
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, and cookies or similar technologies used for session management and product analytics.
2. How we use your data
We use personal data only for legitimate purposes related to operating HR Breakers:
- Providing the service: parsing your resume and job posting, running AI adaptation, storing outputs, and letting you download results.
- Account management: authentication, security, fraud prevention, and customer support.
- Billing: selling and applying credits through Stripe and Platega.
- Product improvement: understanding feature usage via analytics (see "Processors" below).
- Legal compliance: responding to lawful requests and enforcing our Terms of Service.
3. AI processing
Resume adaptation uses automated systems, including large language models operated on our backend infrastructure. When you start an adaptation, the text extracted from your resume and job posting is sent to those systems for processing.
We instruct our systems to reshape and rephrase content based on your existing experience. We do not use your documents to train public third-party models unless a processor’s terms explicitly allow it and we have configured opt-out where available.
AI output may contain errors. You are responsible for reviewing every adapted resume before submitting it to an employer.
4. Storage and security
Files (such as uploaded resumes and generated PDFs) are stored in private object storage (S3-compatible, currently Tigris). Metadata and account records are stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted with our cloud providers.
We use access controls, encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), and presigned URLs with limited lifetime for file downloads. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Service providers (processors)
We share data with trusted vendors only as needed to run the product:
- Cloud hosting and database providers (application and API hosting).
- Object storage (resume and PDF files).
- Stripe and Platega (payments).
- Email delivery (transactional messages).
- Google and GitHub (OAuth sign-in, if you choose those methods).
- Analytics (for example PostHog) to understand product usage in aggregate.
- AI inference infrastructure used to generate adapted resumes.
6. Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. When you delete a resume or adaptation from your account, we remove the associated files and records from our systems, subject to short backup retention by infrastructure providers.
You may request account deletion by contacting hi@hrbreakers.com. We will delete or anonymize personal data unless we must retain it for legal, security, or billing obligations.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to certain processing or lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
To exercise these rights, email hi@hrbreakers.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and may ask you to verify your identity.
9. International transfers
Our infrastructure and processors may be located outside your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms) for cross-border transfers.
10. Children
HR Breakers is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may also be communicated by email or in-product notice where appropriate.
